Peter’s contribution to this group exhibition is a series of paintings inspired by linear features of the Uist landscape:
“The paintings are my response to the sense of flatness in the machair edges: from the weight of long horizons and tall skies. Of moveable edges, such as waves and tidelines. And the indistinctness of rain and wind …The paintings use flattened perspective and a deliberate unfocusing of edges. Multiple horizon lines are stacked vertically, sometimes creating a series of micro-landscapes within the overall image, So there’s elements of both the repetition and the differences you find in living within one place over the seasons”
