Family Circle, North Uist
Playing with some editing scans of some 1912 photos from North Uist using Photoshop's AI. Not sure whether this is good or bad, but interesting at least. Photos by Isabell Burton MacKenzie from the published diary of her visit to Uist for the Highland Home Industries Board: (1) On SS Hebrides crossing the Minch: "the little girl is of about 13 - Morag - has won a bursary and is going to school in Glasgow - to live in lodgings with utter strangers. This is the first time she has been on a steamer - she has never seen a train - never seen a tree - never seen a town - and has never seen her fellow travellers before" (2) Children at Clachan Book: https://vanishingyarns.co.uk/2022/10/04/book-release/
